Wolf Child Ch.4

                                           Chapter 4 Visitor

            Each day the pups grew stronger and more adventurous. DarkLight trotted over to the mouth of the cave and stared at the bright skies. “Sera!” DarkLight cried to catch her attention. Sera leaped to see what her sister thought was so important. Sera and DarkLight stared at the bright skies. In distance Sera saw a doe with its fawn. DarkLight spotted a mother bird feeding her chicks, but both cubs looked up and in the clouds they saw what they thought was a wolf and its pup.
         
             The skies were bright and lively, and the fragrance of blossoms filled the sky. “I want to go out side,” DarkLight whined. The pups were young and still forbidden to leave the cave. Angel chuckled at the complaining of the young pups. “How about a story,” Angel asked. The pups yipped with excitement. DarkLight and Sera ran to Angel curling up against her warm white fur. Angel stared into the pups’ eyes which were large and glittering with the want for something to keep them from dying of boredom.
       
             “How about the Wolf Child Prophecy,” Angel asked. The pups yipped with excitement. “Yes, Yes!” both pups cried. “Ok let’s see how this goes.
When everyone’s eyes are filled with hatred and fear.
The cries of the forest the cries of death.
The Healer shall appear.
On her chest the marking of a golden paw you shall see.
Over all she is the key.
For in her mind our fate she decides.”
DarkLight shuddered excitedly. Sera yelped with joy.

       Hunter leaped into the cave. “I have a delivery,” he said joyfully laughing. The pups leaped up and scattered towards Hunter. Angel chuckled. “Have fun,” she yelled out. “Follow me,” he said walking out of the cave. The pups could hardly hold still and followed without hesitate.

           The pups walked sniffing every sight and hearing every sound overwhelmed with the excitement of finally being out of the cave. “What are we doing?” Sera yelped. “Were hunting,” Hunter said proudly flashing his white teeth. “What EXACTLY are we hunting?” DarkLight asked. “Something large enough to feed the pack. A deer or maybe a moose something like that.”

        Suddenly Hunter’s ears perked up and his head turned. His eyes flashing at a rustling bush. A growl started to grow from his chest. He got into a position ready to pounce. This smell was not familiar to his nose. The pups watched eagerly. Out of the bushes walked a large wolf with scars all over its body. It had russet fur and paralyzing stare. Hunter’s head whipped over to the pups. “Hide,” he growled. The pups ran to a rotten log watching Hunter and this mysterious wolf. “Name your self! Who are you,” Hunter snarled angrily his eyes never leaving the enemy wolf. “Why are you in our territory,” Hunter asked again. In a flash the wolf was at Hunters side. Hunter leaped attempting to attack. The wolf darted avoiding the attack with ease. “Who are you,” Hunter snarled again even angrier. Hunter leaped hitting the wolf’s side. “My name is Korean,” He finally replied snarling it angrily. Blood dripped from Korean’s side matting up his fur. Korean attacked, but Hunter slid to the side bumping into a tree. He lost his footing but he leaped up ready to attack. Hunter leaped and pinned the muscular wolf to the ground. “Why are you here,” Hunter meant business. Hunter was snapping at Korean’s neck. He was willing to make an easy kill. Korean stayed silent. Hunter bit his hind leg. Korean yelped in pain. Blood began to run from his leg dripping on to Hunter. “Calm down I’m just here to deliver a message,” Korean growled under his breath. Hunter stood freeing Korean. Korean’s face was scarred bleeding. His face was crimson red with his own blood. “Speak,” Hunter growled. “Danyella sent me to tell you…” “Tell us what,” Hunter snarled. “We're watching you.” Hunter shuddered at Korean’s words. “But…” Before Hunter could even finish his sentence the wolf was gone. Hunter stood bleeding from his side without even noticing. Hunter lifted his head to howl calling the pups.
        
                     The pups ran to his side shaking with fear. “Hunter are you ok?” Sera cried pointing out his injuries. Hunter looked at his side. His fur was matted with blood. He flashed a nervous smile. “I’m Fine.” The wolves began to walk home. His ears perked he smelled something but this time it was a scent he knew.  He looked through the trees and saw a small opening. There stood a young injured moose. Its leg was broken and it laid on the ground unable to get up. This was too easy. DarkLight looked up at Hunter’s face nervously.
  
            Hunter leaped and struck the moose’s side. The moose cried in pain. Hunter then bit into the moose’s neck tasting the sweet blood that dripped down his neck. He dragged the moose over to the pups. The pups yelped cheerfully despite the unexpected visit earlier. The threesome then walked back to the cave while the same thought ran through Hunter’s head. We're watching you.
