The brown fur on my chest puffed out as I stood in a position to attack. A growl came from my throut as I stared into the black skies. "I'm a reject I don't belong here," I screamed. Tears dropped from my face as I laid my small brown body unto the cold grass. My pack... Doesn't want me. I whispered in my head frantically. As a pup I have no choice. I thought over and over again hoping there could be some other choice but I knew it was true. Without a pack I had to go to the Diminshed Lands. The land where the rejects and loners lived fighting for survival. "Mom even you." A tear droped onto the cool ground as I laid there sprawled out with tears streaming from my face. Everything now made sense. They named my Xoraiz for a reason. For in wolf language it means, the reject, unwanted, disgrace, and of course alone. I laid all night crying. I feal so alone so differnt so not wolf. I lifted my head howling mournfully. My black ears bent down as I let the howl continue while my crystal eyes teared up. I stood relizing crying wasn't doing anything for me. I then began my journey. I stood on my paws. I seemed mournful I decided that the Diminshed Lands aren't far off and I could make it there in a couple of moons. Maybe just maybe I could create my own pack. I leaped to the forest for the shelter of the trees. I wasn't taking any chances as a pup I'm weak and considering they all turned on me this was my only chance. I then heard my fathers voice in my head as I remembered that he was a reject too and he was driven out when I was very young. I remembered his husky voice as he told me. When the time comes run with your heart and don't look back. I remembered his large brown eyes as he would connect with my thoughts now. The weather being as cold as the time my father left the pack. It was the time of the Snow Moon. When the frozen rain fell from the skies. The cold weather would kill many. I couldn't help my self as tears still dripped from my eyes and landed on the frosty ground and then soon froze. I may have been ready to move on at the time but my heart was being eaten away. I then saw a dark wet cave. This was going to be shelter for tonight. I walked into the damp cave the had a musky smell. It previously had homed some animal but the smell was faint implying they had been gone for about a month or so. I laid down on the freezing floor, alone and cold.
When I woke up the fur on my face was damp from the cold floor. I stood up and streached out my legs. It was time for a hunt to keep up my strength. I popped my head out of the cave to check for dangers. I took a small stealthy  step on to the now snow covered ground. The icy rain had fell from the sky while I slept. I put my nose to the ground catching a small scent. My ears perked. "A rabbit," I whispered. As my nose followed the scent I saw a small snow rabbit on the floor. I leaped attempting to catch the rabbit but I was blown out of the way by a large wolf. Its yellow eyes saw mine but the wolf left with my rabbit in his mouth in a flash. "Great, what am I supossed to eat now!" I muttered to myself as I began to search for more prey. The hunt was a fail. There was nothing I could do now but move on. I continued to walk along the frost path. My paw pads tingled cold from the slick ice. I started to wonder how long the Snow Moon would last but I wasn't sure. As I kept walking I became startled by a noise that ruslted from a bush. Out jumped a pup my age. Her fur was long and silk like. It was dark blue but so beautiful. Her tail was long with a large amount of fur. You may say she was well, fluffy. "Who are you?" I asked startled. "I'm Lanatia," she yelped wagging her tail. "What are you doing?" she asked. "I... I...," I stutered. "Whats the matter? Areli got your tongue?" She chuckled. I suddenly felt embarresed. "Um... who's Areli?" "You don't know who Areli is!" She yelped suprised. "Uh... n-no I don't." Lanatia's eyes grew large. "Areli is the one who saved us all!" She grew silent for a moment but then began to tell the story. "It was a long time ago when wolves lived together in one large pack and peace lived across the land but when an evil spirit in the form of a wolf whispered evil into the wolves' minds wolves became savge creatures fighting with each other over food and territory. This displeased our great wolf mother and father. They sent their only pup Areli to bring peace back to the land. Areli climbed to the top of the Heavens Stones and at the strike of midnight he howled a song so beautiful that the wolves forgot the evil they had learned and peace was back in the land. This angered the creature so he climbed to the top of the Heavens Stones and took Areli's life along with his own. As a punishment wolves could no longer live all together and for every soul that was lost that day another day in the Snow Moon was born." The story ended and I stared at her in awe. I couldn't help but asking her a question. "W-what pack are you from?" Lanatia cocked her head. "I'm a member of the mighty Fireclaw pack... well I was." Her face drooped. "Um, whats the matter?" Lanatia looked up. "I've been searching for days unable to find them." Xoraiz was shocked, but her ears drooped. "I-I was exciled from my pack there's no way I can help you." But when I looked up the beautiful she-wolf had dissapeared. Xoraiz was shocked was she an angel or something like that? But what she didn't know was Lanatia was behind the tree in a distance. Her eyes teared up and she looked to the sky. Xoraiz shook her head and continued walking.whispered her thoughts outloud, it wasn't like anyone was actually listening. "Areli sounds so brave... I could never be like him. The Diminshed Lands are just right over the mountains. Maybe, just maybe I could travel to that mountain talked about and find out something more about this Areli or maybe find out how he was so brave!" Xoraiz bolted towards the mountain ahead. She now had a purpose or something to actually look forward to. When Xoraiz was there the summit was so far yet so close. Suddenly, Xoraiz heard a rustle in the bushes.
Out walked what seemed to be my mother. Her long silk fur. I remembered laying on her soft pelt and her licking my muzzle telling me someday I'll be as big as her. My head shook. There was something differen't this wasn't my mother! She smelled nothing like how her mother had smelled. "No, y-your not my mother!"
